Research Question

How does Caesar’s Gallic Wars construct the relative importance of tribes across geographic space, and what patterns of power and interaction emerge through mapping and frequency analysis of people, tribes, and locations?

Methodology

We use XML markup to tag people, tribes, and locations in Caesar’s Gallic Wars, then analyze the data through mapping and frequency-based visualizations to identify patterns of geographic movement and narrative emphasis.
